| Results for First Wild Wacky Wednesday Night at CCS | by Ronnie Bacelo
Punta Gorda, Fla. - The Inaugural Wild Wacky Wednesday is
in the record books and it was Dan Benoit (Ft. Myers)
first to the line as he collected a cool $1000 for his
efforts. Early leader Chris Huntoon (Englewood) would
lead many laps only to make contact with Benoit giving
him a left rear flat and send him to the pits for repairs.
Chris Oncken would take chase to the leader only to come
up short at the stripe. Benoit, Oncken and Craig Amboyan
(Port Charlotte) would be the first three cars to take
the checkered. Regular Limited Late Model Standout Chuck
Sweet (Port Charlotte) would drive the Lee's Auto repair
entry to a fourth place showing and Mark Ludvigsen (Ft.
Myers) rounded out the last paying spot.
The Xtreme Reverse race see Chris Huntoon (Englewood) the
best to back up as he outdistanced his closest competitor
by over 3/4 of the speedway. Chasing Huntoon was Chuck
Sweet (Port Charlotte) and the travelin' man of Victor
Leo (Miami) who made the trip over to try for the $1000
cash was third.
The Xtreme Drag races saw the closest finish of the night
with Sweet edging out Huntoon by mere inches to capture
the ever so popular two car elimination drags. Victor
Leo was shown in the third spot and cashed in on his
trip across the alley.
