Ron Wilson Wins First Street Stock Race At Hialeah | by Marty Little HIALEAH, Fla - Using his up front starting spot to good advantage, Charlie Coyle scored a clean sweep of the late model sporsman program Saturday night at Hialeah Speedway.
Wheeling his freshly redone Murray's Speed & Custom Monte Carlo, Coyle topped his heatin a wire to wire run then duplicated the feat to score his first win of the season in dominant fashion. Chasing Coyle in the 25 lap headliner was the Ford of Craig Seewald, Stuart Robertson, Greg Kaouk, and Ray Derry.
Another first time winer was veteran Ron Wilson in the street stocks as he jumped from his pole starting position and never looked back enroute to the victory. Points leader Gary Padula gave chase but settled for second in the 25 lap event ahead of T.C. McElyea, Bubba Martone and Chad Rutherford.
Toyota mounted Eddie Lowery claimed his second mini stock victory of the season as he held off the challenges of Bill Calder and Tommy Styer for the score. Arcy Anderson and Harold Cross rouned out the top five finishers. Styer's late race challenge ended in a spin with two laps remaining.
Chad Orth outran a good field of cyclone drivers to claim his initial win of the year in the 25 lap feature. Ron Regula came from deep in the pack to claim second money ahead of Victor Leo, Bruce Moerlins and George Morales.
John Bentley hustled his primered Camaro to the win in the 25 lap pure stock main with a good drive over point leader Roger Bohannon, Frank Kelliher, Mike Crehan and Sean Buiaskas chased the lead duo to the stripe.
