Styer takes 7th Mini-Stock Victory at Hialeah | by Marty Little HIALEAH, Fla. - Despite an ill handling race car, veteran Steve Dielmann held off the advances of point leader Gary Padula to win Saturday night's 25 lap street stock feature event at Hialeah Speedway. Making only his second start in the car, Dielmann paced every circuit around the flat third-mile oval to notch his first victory of the season. Padula applied plenty of pressure to claim runner-up honors ahead of Chad Rutherford, T.C. McElyea and Mike Orth.
Mini stock points leader Tommy Styer battled with early point man Eddie Lowery but came away with his seventh win in eight starts in the 25 lap run. Richard Thomas, Bill Calder and newcomer Eli Pollard rounded out the top five finishers.
Bruce Moerlins notched a wire to wire victory, his first of the season, to claim the 25 lap cyclone headliner. Victor Leo gave chase but came up short for second over Bob Regula, Gabe Hernandez and Zane Reid.
The pure stock feature was annexed by Roger Pfau for the first time this season with John Bentley, Greg Gorniak, point leader Roger Bohannon and Sean Bulaskas trailing. Leo won the 100 lap enduro ahead of Linda Schmal and Lynn Reid. Have an opinion on this story? Post a message on our Message Board! news@karnac.orgor send a letter to the editor!
