Padula 2 in a Row at Hialeah | by Marty Little HIALEAH, Fla. - Street stock points leader Gary Padula helped his own cause in scoring his second 25 lap feature win of the season Saturday night at Hialeah Speedway.
Padula took the lead from Craig Seewald on lap three and hustled to the win by a narrow margin over Chad Ruthreford. T.C. McElyea, Greg Gorniak and Ron Wilson.
Many time mini stock champion David Russell made his first visit of the season to the speedway successful as he drove away from the field for the win. Chasing Russell in the 25 lap event was Bill Calder, point leader Tommy Styer, Bill Miner and Harold Cross. Ron Regula, on the comeback trail, led flag to flag to capture his first cyclone feature in only his second appearance at the track. Victor Leo, Zane Reid, Bob Regula and Harvey Freeman chased Regula to the stripe in the 25 lapper.
Frank Kelliher bested Greg Gorniak and John Bentley to notch the pure stock headliner while defending Outlaw Modified champion Ted Hoverson won the accident marred 30 lap feature for the visiting open wheelers. Christy Boyette and Phil Brigham were second and third respectively. Joshua Gorniak topped the kids Hornets feature in front of Joey Morales and Billy Magill. Have an opinion on this story?
