East Bay Dirt Mods Open Season | The season started out great at East Bay Raceway this past Saturday night for the dirt modified class with fifteen cars showing up to race with several other drivers saying they will have their cars ready for the next race. Dirt mods were as good as any class, putting on a great professional show running green to checkered flag in the 20 lap feature.
The top three cars ran nose to tail, swapping positions throughout the race, with Robbie Barris coming from back of pack to catch leaders for a 4 way tight finish at the finish line and all 4 emerging from their cars at tech inspection saying "that racing was the most fun you can ever have driving a race car". Wayne Hammond took the checkered ahead of Bruce Watkins, Roger Crouse and Robbie Barris.
Racing will continue for the dirt mods at East Bay every other week throughout the year. Track officials are expected to increase the purse if the Dirt Mods can continue to grow the car count.
The series pays $500 to win and $50 to start feature as of now, with a serious sponsorship search underway.
