Bronson Motor Speedway: A Whole New Look! | By Jane Smith
(KNS)For the second week in a row, Bronson Motor Speedway aka "the new Lil Bristol" was rained out. But the rain did not stop fans, drivers, and crews from coming to Bronson. Some hot laps were made before the gray, dismal clouds opened with a steady rain putting a halt to the night's program.
Mike and Jane Cope, the new owners of Bronson Motor Speedway, have put a lot of blood, sweat and tears into making Bronson a A+ racing facility. And, as Mike Cope said, "we aren't done yet. There are still a number of projects to be completed." Even so, Bronson has improved 100% since Cope bought it at the end of last season.

Not many times do you find an owner of a track so helpful or so out in the open. Even with a full staff, Cope remains in the middle of all the activity.
In spite of the steady drizzle, cars kept coming in to race and fans were found to be sitting in the stands, umbrella in hand, just waiting to get a taste of some good old fashion short track racing.
New stands, new asphalt, new pits were just part of the improvement that greeted these die-hard Bronson fans. Good food, clean bathroom facilities (very important at a track), and smiling faces of the staff were all found at the new "Lil Bristol".
![](http://www.karnacmedia.com/images2002/track2.jpg) Bronson will offer a full array of racing this year with it's own Late Model Series racing each month, modifieds, sportsman, pure stocks, mini stocks and V8 enduros.
Also on the program are a number of Series Racing with the FASTRUCKS, 911 Racing, and Florida Pro. A number of 100 lap Mini-Stock races and a few 50 lap specials for each division will definitely bring in cars for those programs.
Although the rain came and not many drivers got on the track, Michael Faulk, who was only watching, said "this is a great facility. I will defnitely be running some races here this year. Mike Cope has done a great job of making Bronson the best short track in Florida."
Bronson Motor Speedway will definitely be a track that fans, drivers and crews should check out in 2002.
