Bohannon Grabs Pure Stock Win At Hialeah | By Marty Little Mikeal Kohut took the lead from Craig Seewald on lap four and sped to the win in the 25 lap street stock feature Saturday night at Hialeah Speedway.
Seewald had his Thunderbird in command until mechanical failure too him out and Kohut assumed the point. Gary Padula gave chase but settled for runner-up honors over Jim Nall, Ron Wilson and Ken Ammerman. For the second straight week Tommy Styer proved the best of the mini stocks as he passed Eddie Lowery for the lead on lap six and never looked back in winning the 25 lap run. Kenny Strong chased Lowery to the stripe ahead of Richard Thomas and Bill Calder.
Roger Bohannon notched the pure stock main. Greg Gorniak led to lap 14 when his engine blew and Bohannon took over and cruised to the victory in the 25 lap event. John Bentley, Wesley Horne, Chad Orth and Johnny Bulaskas followed at the checkers. Gorniak had no problems in copping the 25 lap cyclone headliner as he strated from the pole and was never headed. Bruce Moerlins was second followed by Bob Regula, Harvey Freeman and Kirk Demyan.
The enduro was cut to 50 laps with Victor Leo the unofficial winner over Linda Schmal and George Morales. Have an opinion on this story? Post a message on our Message Board! news@karnac.orgor send a letter to the editor!
