Chad Pierce takes NSS Late Model Victory

by Hank Sanders
Super Late Model: Mike Good driving the #27 Ford T-Bird took the measure of the small field of cars on hand. Sammy Graham in the #1, was last week s winner, and stayed with Mike for second over Ron Dicandio s #20, Mike Finn s # 6 Lumina and Mark Vandevender s excellent looking new #7 rounded out the field.

Modified: Justin Henderson looked to get his first win as he battled Mark Vandevender's #7 for the last lap race to the checker. Justin s car got loose coming out of turn #4 and struck the wall hard . The good news is that Justin was released from the hospital, and is OK. Mark went on to get the win. Jeff Anderson put the #99 in the second spot, Rookie Mad Max Mock in the #44 was third. Tom Root # 19 and Bo Davis in the #29 ( Last week s winner) filled out the field.

Late Model: Chad Pierce put the new #57 back together and drove it to Victory lane. Timmy Todd was on hand with the #25 Camaro and took second over Earl Beckner in the black #3. Bob Andrecheck was also back with a new sponsor, Jolly Rogers, and claimed 4th. Russ Antonnuci brought the blue Pontiac #46 out and was paid for fifth.

Mini stock: Mark Rigsby looked like the man to beat in the #64 Mustang in the Mini feature. Due to a protest the win went to Dale Castille's #9 T-Bird. Eric Powell placed the #2 in second, Conrad Grenier #01 was third and #55 Rick Tumey and #V3 Rex Christensen rounded out the top 5.

Sportsman: Ian Huffman looked real strong in the #3 Gator Golf Monte Carlo. After much spinning and crashing by many cars, Ron Lufcy avoided trouble and put his blue #07 into second. Bobby Mara # 77 stayed out of trouble and came home 3d. Donnie Miller in the #111 and Doug Samion s #04 rounded out the top 5.

Super Stock: Billy Spade drove his #15X Chevy for all it was worth and shocked the crowd by taking the win over Jim Winterstein s #13 Olds! Jim was 3d as Ted Helms charged to second in the orange #61. Ted drove a great race coming from the rear. Fourth was #14 Kevin Schultz, and Dave Gould s #16 claimed 5th.

Strictly Stock: 1st = #38, Bob Thrombly, The Pride Of Sanford . Second went to the #44, 3rd went to #58, Grady Scott, 4th was #42 David Oagles and 5th # 27, Josh Wronkrowski.
