NIGHT OF THE FOG

Day 5 for the World Series of Asphalt Stock Car Racing was marred by the same event that happened the night before: 'THE FOG". By the time we got to the track, right at 7:30, the fog was already rolling in for the night. If you remember that old movie "The Fog", a scary movie, it felt just like that. That something was going to creep out at you in any given minute.

We have alot of features to make up once the fog does go away since after the NASCAR Tour Type and S/K Mods ran, the drivers said it was just too difficult to see and called the races. A minor incident between the #72 of Jr. Hanley and the #14 caused tempers to flare but it was the FOG that did it.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch, B.J. McLeod had crashed during practice that day but his dad, Darwin McLeod, said they expected to be in good shape for day 6. Also, young Shelby Howard, who crashed the night before, had bad luck once again when a tire went down in the feature race and did some damage to the #40. Brad May, one of the most popular drivers in the Late Models, is still fighting his #l0 Late to go out and win one for him. And Jeff Lang, the #l0 Indiana Mod driver, is still practicing his crashing technique since he crashed at Lake City and crashed last night at NSS. But as I told him, "it will get better."

The "FOG" did it. But hopefully, we will get a much clearer night tonight.

Jane Smith
