Wayne Reutimann 'Sprints' To Sixth Win In TBARA Special Feature At Columbia | (Lake City, FL; 10/21/2000) Using traffic as a pick, Wayne Reutimann zipped past leader Brad Davis as they took the white flag and sped to the win in the 25-lap TBARA Sprint car feature Saturday night at Columbia Motorsports Park.
Polesitter Davis had Joey Aguilar on his tail for the first 17 circuits on the banked half-mile before Reutimann put his #22 into the runner-up slot. Davis continued to lead, but in the closing laps Reutimann put his years of experience to good use and went in front and ran to his sixth win of the season. Davis stayed focused for second money over point leader Jim Childers, Shane Butler and Aguilar. Reutimann, Davis and Childers each won a heat race as well.
In Florida Modified action, Richard Ferry borrowed an engine from his Late Model and hustled to his sixth win of the season in the 20 lap-feature. J.F. McClellan chased Ferry's #17 to the stripe ahead of early leader Mike Johnson, Shannon Smith and Russ Miscally.
The always active Street Stocks found Ray Wheeler the third different leader by lap six and he held off the pressure from Nick Reid for the win, his fifth this season. Reid was second over Jason Garver, Marty Wood and Clinton Keen.
Rick Day set the early pace in his Mopar in the 15-lap Pure Stock run, but it was Danny Coleman who blasted to the lead at mid-race and got the win over point leader William Jerkins. Nevin Gainey, John Roling and Trish Berry rounded out the top five runners.
The final regular season night of racing will happen this Saturday, October 28, with awards and a BBQ immediately following the races.
