Kittleson Claims Seventh Super Late Model Win at Orlando

Point leader Travis Kittleson got around Bill Pratt just past halfway to claim his seventh Super Late Model win of the year Friday night at Orlando Speedworld. Pratt won the heat race and had the pole for the feature grabbing the lead at the drop of the green with Kittleson settling into second.

Kittleson bided his time and Pratt slipped in turn two on lap 13 giving Kittleson all the room he needed to dive underneath and take the lead. Kittleson led the rest of the way in his Bob Steele Chevrolet Monte Carlo with Pratt second ahead of Rusty Ebersole, David Hart and Sid Stites.

Larry Osteen dominated the Modified 15-lapper opening up a straightaway lead before Hank Sanders and Bruce Thompson tangled to bring out the caution. Osteen held off Frank Polly for the win as Polly finally broke a seven-week stretch that saw him finish third six times and fourth once. John Wills was third, with Wayne Parker fourth and Sanders coming back for fifth.

The Mini-Stocks put on a super side-by-side racing show with Marty Pierce finally winning out after a race long battle between Kelly Jarrett. Tim McPhail made a late run for second in front of Geoff Williams, Kenny Hankins and Jarrett who faded late in the event.

Doug Samion ran off with his eighth Sportsman win of the season topping Jeff Wright, Matt Griffin, Richard Hight and Jeff Miller.

It was win number ten in the Super Stocks for point leader Carl Peters as he outran Duane Freed for the win. Timmy Russell hit the wall on the last lap, losing a top five finish, as Charlie Fry crossed the stripe third ahead of Bob Wines and Mark Scherer.

Don Smith took another win in the Strictly Stock class topping Brent Brown, Russ Noyes, Jacob Luke and Tim Sidenbender.
