DUSTY BOUCHARD WINS FIRST FEATURE AT BRONSON'S BULLRING | by Gil Peck Rain washed out most of the features at the Bronson Bullring Saturday nite, but the fans had some celebrating to do anyway. First off, with only one feature completed, the fans that did attend can use their ticket stubs from Saturday as rain checks for either the June 10 show or the June 17 show. The 17th show will include the high dollar, thunder and lightning division Late Model Sportsman cars. The 4-CYLINDER CRUISER class did run it's event and Dusty Bouchard pulled off his first win in the # 3 Papa "J's" mini-truck. Dusty has been racing just two weeks under the guidance and encouragement of his dad, Al Bouchard. Al is a veteran racer himself and knows his way around the bullring. Mom, Sandy Bouchard, attended her first race since Dusty has been in the car. " Everybody says he is doing so well, I just had to get up the nerve to come watch!" said Dusty and Al's cheerful and freindly " better half." I'll bet she's glad she did, as a loyal crowd and some visiting family helped her celebrate. It was a special nite, too for the Lee Faulk and Gene Owens families as well. Gene's son, Kyle, had just graduated high school Friday nite and was to compete in his # 2 Late Model Sportsman Monte Carlo. Lee's son Mike Faulk was cutting things close, as his graduation was Saturday nite. He had to receive his high school diploma at Gainesville's O'Connel Center and then " book it" to the speedway in time to run the Late Model Sportsman 50-lap event in his # 36 Monte Carlo. Look for these two fine young men to be back along with Bronson's other Late Model Sportsman campaigners on June 17. Have an opinion on this story?
