John Crawford Storms to LM Stock Feature at Columbia

LAKE CITY, Fla. - In an accident marred event, John Crawford came from the back of the field after a lap nine incident to win the 18 lap late model stock feature event Saturday night at Columbia Motorsports Park.

Crawford, who took the lead from Richard Ferry on lap two, tangled with Brian Powers and went to the rear. He then stormed through the field to gain the lead and win over Shane Taylor, Al Beckelheimer Jr., Richard Tucker and Ferry.
Ferry had better luck in the 20-lap Florida modified run as the took the lead on a late race restart to top Roger Webb who had paced the event for the first 13 circuits. Shannon Smith, Mike Bennett and John Mitchell completed the top five runners.

Trick Thomas was flagged the winner of the 20-lap street stock finale but his car would not pass post-race inspection with the win inherited by Charles Seroki. Clayton Roberts and Arthur Conquest led to lap 10 before Thomas took command. The win was Seroki's second in as many weeks with Conquest second ahead of Debbie Shepard, Don Davis and Roberts.

Veteran Harry Stickle, using ignition parts borrowed from a mystery
benefactor, piloted his Pontiac to a popular victory in the 15-lap pure stock feature run, leading every lap. Robert Bradow claimed second money over Jerry Fortner, L.H. Davis and Keith Davis.
