In spite of a few afternoon showers on and off, New Smyrna
Speedway opened it's track to the 2000 season. Car
counts were off due to the Florida Pro race at Lake City
and Columbia Motorsports Park and the opening night
at Florida Speed Park but none the less fans were
entertained.
