Robert Bradow Comes from Behind at Columbia to Win Pure Stocks

LAKE CITY, Fla. - John Crawford kicked off the 2000 season at Columbia Motorsports Park Saturday night as he took a wire to wire win in the dozen lap late model stock headliner.

A short field of cars dictated the abreviated run, but Crawford had his act in order as he hustled around the banked half-mile oval in fine style to gain the win. Nelson Sweeney and John Mitchell trailed at the checkers.

In Florida modified action it was all Roger Webb, as he blasted from the outside of the front row to lead every circuit in the 20 lapper for the victory. Derek Crawford gave chase but settled for runner-up money over Mike Bennett, John Mitchell (different than above) and Robbie McKenzie.

The street stock main saw 15 cars take the green flag with Clinton Keen at the point and he never looked back, leading every lap for the win. Charles Seroki claimed second money over Trick Thomas, Randall Jackson and Ray Wheeler.

In the best race of the night, Danny Coleman led the first eight laps of the pure stock 15 lapper but it was Robert Bradow who took command on lap nine and sped to his first victory. William Jerkins, Keith Davis, Coleman and Martin Maresca were next to the stripe.
