February 16, St. Augustine, Fla.- Wildwood, Florida's Dick Anderson made it two in a row Wednesday night at Florida Speed Park, winning the Super Late Model portion of the SpeedFest 2000 program.

"This car still isn't exactly right," said Anderson in Victory Lane. "It's getting closer but so are those guys."

"Tim (Felver) gave me a heck of a run tonight. He's a real good driver and I really had to work to stay ahead of him tonight. I like running against the best and that's what you've got here, the best from everywhere."

Tim Felver of Owosso, Mich. pressured Anderson through the entire race while running bumper to bumper sandwiched between Anderson and Angola, Indiana's Scott Hantz for the entire 35 laps.

"Dick's strong," said runner-up Felver. "But you know going in that he's going to be strong. We've got to get stronger to beat him. That's all there is to it."

When asked what was going to take to get the job done, Felver had a simple but straight answer. "Having his engine would help."

Behind the trio of Anderson, Felver and Hantz, Mark Reedy and "Big Jim" Kelley rounded out the top five.

In the featured Meadowood Homes Championship Auto Racing Series, A.J.Henrickson edged out Bob Dunke and Tim Green for the win. Kimberly Gibson and Craig Carney filled out the top five positions in this Indianapolis based
series.

Jeff Lane of Knightstown, In. held off the challenges of Coldwater, Mich.'s John Gearhart to pick up the win in the Modified division. Robert Deal of Jacksonville held on for a third place finish despite a flat left rear tire.

"The car kept getting looser and looser," said Deal. "I guess now we know why."

Cincinnati's Kim King and Joe Beaver of Noblesville, In. rounded out the top five among the Modified teams.

Bill Harkins of Painesville, Ohio picked up the win in the Truck division over teammate Rob Williams and Indianapolis' Andrew White filling in for Eddie Van Meter in the No. 23 truck. Brandon Fagin and Wes Bullock completed the top five finishers.

Among the Allison Legacy drivers, Bob Saville of New London, N.C. was the best of the best as he posted the win in a close finish over Dan Doeler of Uniontown, Ohio and Jay Godley of Charlotte, N.C.

Saville drew an eight pill for the invert in tomorrow night's Legacy event, That means he will begin the race in the eighth spot to try for win number two.
