Racing Resumes at New Symrna | Long johns, gloves, battery-operated socks, that was the order for clothing last night at New Smyrna Speedway as racing resumed for 2000. A few fans dared the cold but it was another matter for the drivers as plenty turned out to try their skill on the one-half mile oval asphalt.
In the heat race for the Modifieds, Shelby Howard (#40) from Indiana had the pole for the heat race but after two false starts was sent to the rear with Jerry Symons (#66) taking over the pole position and winning from the pole.
