A COMMNETARY

Of course Jane Smith and Rick Anges are the original "Karnacians" and none of this could have been possible without their help. It has been a rocky road at times, but the Florida stock car racing part of the KARNAC.com web site is the result of the work of many, many people who have contributed and continue to contribute to furthering the sport in our state. Rick Anges is working up the list now of all the people who made this web site possible.
With thousands of articles, thousands of photos of Florida's events big and small over a decade, this message board is just a piece of that mosaic, though an important piece as this is where the "community" meets.
From the death of "Wild Bill" Revard to the closing of Hialeah and Sunshine and the celebration of the lives of some of our greatest, such as Pete Orr and Bobby "5X5", this is the place where shared laughter and shared tears have united the Florida racing community when the time was right.
It is not now and never has been about any one of us, it is about all of us.
KARNAC, originally was created to bring news, information and entertainment to race fans. It has done that and will continue with the help of many, some of whom the names we don't even know at this point.
Real Racin USA grew out of the work of Bill Green, Greg Kielma, Rick Anges myself and others with a project called Short Track America. Real Racin USA was created to PROMOTE MOTORSPORTS. I firmly believe that you cannot promote in a negative environment.
This weekend there is going to be great racing from one end of Florida to the other. From the ASA Challenge Late Model Series at Five Flags Speedway, to the honoring of Robert Hart's father Clyde at New Smyrna Speedway, big shows at all the dirt tracks, 50 laps of TBARA Winged Sprints at DeSoto Super Speedway and Late Model racing at Charlotte, and much more.
My advise is to forget all the negative, energy draining nonsense, go enjoy some good Florida stock car racing and take somebody with you who has never been.
The best antidote for a negative is to double the positive.
