Another great night for racing at Eastbay Raceway Park as around 100 cars signed in to race included a pack field of 34 Late Models. The weather was hot and steamy, so was the racing on the Clay by the Bay.
The Limited Late Models hit the track first with their 15-lap feature event. JR Prather, Jr. went to victory lane for the 2nd time this season holding off the hard charging Forest Gough.
Gough finished in the 2nd position. Roger Crouse picked up his first of three top 3 finishes of the night crossing the line in the 3rd spot. William Pugh and Cheryl Cochran rounded out the top 5. Gough and Pugh won the heat races.
When Alex Boerner moved into the Open Wheel Modified class this season from the Outlaw 4’s fans and drivers alike knew he would bring some excitement to what is typically one of the most competitive classes of racing at Eastbay Raceway Park.
Boerner claimed his first victory in the class holding off Dakotah Stephens and Roger Crouse for the win. After taking the checkered flag, Boerner borrowed a page from Nascar Driver Tony Stewart as he climbed the fence and jumped into the flag stand on the front stretch for his victory lane interview.
Stephens finished 2nd, Crouse was 3rd. Scotty Williams came home in the 4th sport and Tony Agin rounded out the top 5. Bobby Dixon and Jamie Burrows won the heat races.
In the Street Stock class Charlie Paris, Jr. returned to victory lane for the 9th time this season holding off Gary Sheffield for the win. As the laps wound down Sheffield battled Paris, Jr. for the lead trying every line possible to get around Paris, Jr. The 2nd place finish was the best finish of the season for Sheffield. Dave Floyd finished 3rd. Buck Skinner and Matthew Collins rounded out the top 5. Collins, Floyd and Buckshot Meixner won the heat races.
A packed field of Late Models hit the track for their 25-lap feature. Jackie Nosbisch, Jr. started in the 7th spot and quickly moved to the front of the field.

With KD Kelley holding down the lead, Nosbisch was able to make the pass and pull away from the rest of the field. Nosbisch’s night was cut short as technical problems caused his car to hit the wall at the entrance of turn 3.
KD Kelley had a strong car all night and took over the lead as the laps wound down. Once in the lead, Kelley would not look back and went to victory lane for the first time this season. Roger Crouse finished 2nd. Keith Nosbisch was 3rd.
David Schmauss and Marshall Austin rounded out the top-5. Kelley, Austin and Schmauss won the heat races. Jimmy Waldrop, Tony Payne and Brian Barse raced their way into the feature race with a top three finish in the consolation race.
The 4 Cylinder Bombers capped an action packed night of racing. Patrick Tabb started 14th in the field and went to victory lane for the first time holding off Randy Tyler and Kever Raulerson. Tyler finished 2nd and Raulerson was 3rd. Last week’s winner Frank Miller crossed the line in 4th. The pit crew of the night award went to Robert Kissam’s team as he suffered a flat tire early in the race and was able to get his tire changed during a quick caution. Kissam did not lose a lap and finished in the 5th spot. Paul Hufstutler, Raulerson and Tyler won the heat races.
