Crane Excited to Get Behind The Wheel At Five Flags | By Chris Ragle
Panama City, FL 8/28/07- Most racers love to get behind the wheel every chance they can get, but there comes a time during the season when a step back actually is a step forward. For Ryan Crane and his Honda of Panama team that time came during the month of August. After wrecking hard and destroying a good car taking the green flag at Mobile, the Ryan Crane Racing team decided it was time to regroup in preparation for the remainder of the season which includes some of the most prestigious late model races in the country on schedule for the Florida based race team. “It’s been a while since we’ve been at the race track so it will be great to get back behind the wheel. We took some time off to get everything lined up to finish out the rest of the year. It is real important to have everything perfect going into these big races especially the All-American in Nashville and the Snowball Derby, those are two races that you have to have your stuff at its best when you show up,” noted Crane. This weekend Crane will look to knock dust off the his driving suite at the Five Flags Speedway, a track that is favorable to the twenty-four year old driver, a place where he currently sits atop the Blizzard Series points standings. Crane holds a ten point lead over fellow Floridian Justin Drawdy going into round four of the five round Blizzard Series which will award two guaranteed starting spots for the 40th Annual Snowball Derby to the top two drivers in the final Blizzard Series championship points standings. “I love racing at Pensacola, it’s been a favorite track of mine for a while. I think when you enjoy racing at a certain track it allows you to run better there and that probably has a lot to do with our success there. We just need to have consistent top-5 runs these last two races and I think we should be alright. It would be really nice to win the Blizzard Series championship and be locked in for the derby,” said Crane.
