Shan Smith started a marathon of racing last weekend. Friday Shan and SS Performance Enterprise racing team left for Bulls Gap Tennessee for a Saturday night Show at Volunteer Speedway on June 30th.
From there the team continued to Knoxville Tennessee and raced at 411 Motor Speedway on July 3rd racing to a 9th place finish. Then the team set out for Antioch North Carolina on July 4th to run at Antioch Speedway finishing in 8th place.
The week was not over yet as after loading up they headed south to Brunswick Georgia to race July 6th and 7th at Golden Isles Speedway. Qualifying for the feature both nights only to be involved in on track incidents and finishing each night in the pits as a spectator.
After the end of the Saturday night race the team left out at 3am on July 8th for a 250 mile drive home, repair the damage and set out on another 165 mile drive south to Clewiston Florida for a race on Sunday July 8th. Starting the Feature in Last position Shan made a bold move at the drop of the green and in 1 lap was running 4th and in 4 laps was leading the race having passed 12 cars.
Several cautions bunched the field but Shan was never challenged and drove away for the Feature win in the second Central Sheds Late Model series This is his 3rd win at Clewiston and 5th win this year.
This weekend it is off to Volusia Speedway in Barberville, Fl.
