Cecil Williams Will be Missed | By Jane Smith
Cecil Williams, long time friend of racing, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 10. Cecil was the Pace Truck driver at Columbia Motorsports Park but he was also the husband of Earlene Williams, scorer at Columbia, and father to Patrick Williams, well known in the Florida Racing Community. Cecil never met a person he did not like, never ran out of stories to tell, and was always full of fun and laughter. If he wasn't talking about racing, he was talking about fishing, both of which he loved.
Cecil always found time for his friends when they visited Columbia Motorsports Park. He would make you feel special as he told his tales of the week, fishing, and his family. He was just one of those very special people who knew how to make his friends and family special.
Viewing for Cecil Williams will be July 11 at Milam Funeral Home, 311 S. Main Street in Gainesville from 5 to 7 p.m. Services will be Thursday, July 12, at 10 a.m. at Milam Funeral Home with graveside services immediately following in Williston.
