Rains have been plaguing Florida racing for the past six weeks with fans and drivers questioning their sanity about committing to making the trip to their local speedway on the weekends.
Even the Pepsi 400 was 2 ½ hours late getting started but the true fans stuck it out and saw a great show. Weather would have been a consideration at Citrus this past weekend had the schedule not already been set to skip this holiday weekend in deference to the Daytona race.
Now it’s time to get back to business and it will be non-stop, ladies and gentlemen start your engines, every Saturday night until November 12th as Citrus County Speedway continues its most aggressive race schedule in the 50 years of operation.

It will be the Thunder Stocks turn this week to time trial and run their anniversary special. Mini Stocks get their special on July 23rd and Super Stocks on August 6th. The rest of the season is offering all short track enthusiasts a wide variety of racing machines and specials that will thrill and entertain the whole family plus a tight point’s shoot out that will go right down to the wire in every regular division.
Double Late Model features, Super Stocks, Mini Stocks, Hobby Stocks and 4 Cylinder Bombers will balance out the restart of the point’s season this Saturday night with grandstand gates opening at 4 and the Late Model makeup 35 lap feature taking the green flag at approximately 6 pm.
